MyMuse Glide Lubricant: Ingredients, Uses and Safety

MyMuse Glide is a water-based lubricant with five ingredients: water, aloe vera extract, hydroxyethyl cellulose, phenoxyethanol and sodium benzoate. No glycerin, no silicone, no fragrance. Its product page says it is safe with all types of condoms and silicone massagers. It dries faster than silicone lube, so keep it within reach and reapply, or add a drop of water.

What is MyMuse Glide made of?

Five things, as listed in the ingredients panel on the Glide product page: water, aloe vera (Aloe Barbadensis) extract, phenoxyethanol, hydroxyethyl cellulose and sodium benzoate. That is the entire list. Nothing in it is glycerin, propylene glycol, a paraben, a fragrance or a flavour.

Ingredient (as listed) What the product page says it does
Water The base; "good old H2O"
Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Extract "Provides natural moisture"; the page calls it organic aloe
Hydroxyethyl cellulose Thickener; sets the viscosity
Phenoxyethanol Preservative
Sodium benzoate "Food-grade preservative"

MyMuse's own FAQ is candid about the thickener ("compounds are used in Glide to get the right viscosity") and adds that Glide is paraben-free and the products are vegan friendly. The page calls the gel "delicately pH balanced"; treat that as the brand's claim, since no pH figure is published.

Is MyMuse Glide water-based or silicone?

Water-based. A silicone version did exist, and it is not listed on mymuse.in today, so a search result or pharmacy page showing "Glide Silicone" is the older product. MyMuse's other lubricant is Slick, which is oil-based; the Glow bottles are massage oils that MyMuse does not recommend for intimate use.

Product Base With condoms With silicone massagers Fragrance Size Price
Glide Water Yes, all types (product page) Yes None 50 ml ₹699
Slick Oil No (support's own advice) No Vanilla essential oil 30 ml ₹699

Is Glide safe with condoms and silicone massagers?

Yes to both, per the product page, which clears Glide for all types of condoms and for silicone massagers. The reason is the base. The WHO/UNFPA advisory note on lubricants for condoms says latex condoms rapidly lose strength if exposed to oil-based lubricants. Oil is the problem, and Glide has none; the note counts silicone lubricants as compatible with latex too.

That answers the coconut oil, Vaseline and baby oil questions: not with a latex condom. The MyMuse massager pages that mention lube all ask for water-based, and most name Glide: Edge ("water-based lubes only"), Jack Pro, Grip, Pulse, Dive+, Link+ and Loop+. Support gives the same rule for Slick: oil-based lubes are for skin-to-skin only, not massagers or condoms. The Edge+Glide combo pairs the stroker with a Glide at ₹2,599.

Why does Glide dry out, and what do you do about it?

The first ingredient on the list is water, and water evaporates. Drying fast is the single most repeated note across Glide's reviews, from three-star to five-star, and it is the honest trade-off of a water-based gel. The fix costs nothing: a few drops of water bring the gel back, or you reapply.

Reviewers say it plainly. "Good Lube but wont last longer, it dries up very fast but the thickness is good," wrote Shubham Kumar. "I wish it lasted longer, it dries out fairly quickly," wrote Subhajit P. in Feb 2026. The workaround came from a customer, JS, back in 2023: "Don't worry if it dries out fast just dilute it a bit after it dries and get going without adding much lube." For something that stays slippery through a long session with no top-up, silicone lube is the answer; the water vs silicone comparison walks through that trade.

Texture splits reviewers: one found Glide "too viscous", another "a little too runny", a third said it "could be thicker".

How much Glide should you use, and how do you apply it?

Start small and add. The product page's instruction is to put a little Glide on your palm, or apply it straight from the pack, and use as much or as little as you like. MyMuse publishes no per-use quantity; go by feel, then top up when it stops.

  1. Put a little on your palm, or apply directly from the pack to where you want it.
  2. With a massager, put some on the massager as well. Dive+'s own instructions are to apply water-based lube like Glide and then insert gently; Edge's page asks for water-based lube only.
  3. When it turns tacky, add a few drops of water or a little more Glide. Do not push through dry.
  4. Afterwards, wash off with warm water or wipe away with a towel or tissue (no sticky residue, the page says), then clean the massager (see the cleaning guide).

What do pH and osmolality mean, and what are Glide's numbers?

pH is how acidic a lubricant is; osmolality is how concentrated it is compared with your body's own fluids. MyMuse has not published Glide's osmolality or pH yet, so this page quotes no number for either. What it can quote is the benchmark the WHO/UNFPA specification for plain lubricants sets for condom programmes. Osmolality under 1,200 mOsm/kg, pH between 5.0 and 7.0, condom compatibility tested to ASTM D7661, and a shelf life of at least 3 years from manufacture.

Why it matters: UNFPA's 2022 brief puts vaginal secretions at 260 to 370 mOsm/kg and says a lubricant should ideally not exceed 380. A hyper-osmolar gel pulls water out of cells ("dried out, shrunken cells", in the brief's words). The WHO/UNFPA advisory note adds that most commercial personal lubricants have high osmolalities, and that keeping glycerol low is how a formula stays under 1,200. Glide's list has no glycerin at all, the strongest thing that can be said about its osmolality without a test.

On pH, the same note puts the healthy vagina at 3.8 to 4.5 and the rectum close to neutral at 7. It calls a pH of about 4.5 preferable for vaginal use, with 5.5 to 7 where the use is not fixed. "Delicately pH balanced" is MyMuse's phrase; the number behind it is the test this page is waiting on.

Who is MyMuse Glide for, and who should skip it?

Glide suits people who react to other lubes, anyone using a silicone massager or a stroker, and first-timers who want a short ingredient list. It does not suit anyone who wants a lube that lasts a long session untouched, or a scent.

  • For: sensitive or infection-prone skin. Kiran, "so sensitive and prone to developing vaginal infection every now n then", called it "a PURE BLESSING". Pooja Joshi found other lubes "kinda felt itchy but this one was just great". Umesh Y. called it "super and non irritating".
  • For: anyone whose massager page says water-based only: Edge, Grip and Jack Pro, plus Dive+, Link+ and Loop+.
  • For: people who hate lingering scent; Rishi Rajani had "poor experiences with the fragrances of Lubes from other brands forever lingering on".
  • For: uses reviewers mention beyond sex, like menstrual cup insertion and bodies in their 40s "going through bodily changes".
  • Not for: anyone who wants a long-lasting lube with no reapplying; that is the silicone lane.
  • Not for: anyone who wants fragrance or flavour. Two reviewers asked for a scent; Glide is unscented on purpose.
  • Not for: anyone who wants a bigger pack. mymuse.in lists one size, 50 ml, and reviewers have asked for larger volumes and a lower price.

Behind those bullets: 345 published reviews on 03 Oct 2026, averaging 4.76 out of 5, with 277 five-star, 52 four-star, 16 three-star and none below.

Key takeaways

  • Glide is water-based with five listed ingredients and no glycerin, parabens, fragrance or flavour.
  • The product page clears it for all condom types and silicone massagers; oil-based lubes are the ones that weaken latex, per the WHO/UNFPA advisory note.
  • It dries sooner than silicone lube; a few drops of water or a top-up brings it back.
  • Apply a little from the pack, add as you go, wash off with warm water.
  • No pH or osmolality figure is published yet; the WHO/UNFPA benchmark is under 1,200 mOsm/kg and pH 5.0 to 7.0.

Frequently asked questions

Is MyMuse Glide glycerin-free?

Yes. The ingredient list on the MyMuse Glide product page has five items, and glycerin is not among them; nor are parabens, propylene glycol, fragrance or flavour.

Can I use coconut oil, Vaseline or baby oil with a condom instead of lube?

Not with a latex condom. Coconut oil, Vaseline and baby oil are all oils, and the WHO/UNFPA advisory note on condom lubricants says latex condoms rapidly lose strength when exposed to oil-based lubricants. Use a water-based lubricant such as MyMuse Glide, or a silicone one.

Does MyMuse Glide have a smell or a taste?

No added fragrance and no flavour; neither is on the ingredient list, and MyMuse's support team describes Glide as odourless. It is made for external use, not as a flavoured or edible lube.

Can I use Glide with Edge, Grip or Jack Pro?

Yes, and you should. The Edge, Grip and Jack Pro pages each say to use a water-based lube, and Edge's adds "water-based lubes only". Oil-based lubes are off the table for these strokers; MyMuse sells Edge and Glide together as a combo.

Is MyMuse Glide good for sensitive skin?

The product page says Glide is suitable for sensitive skin, and the reviews quoted on this page from sensitive users are all five-star. With only five ingredients, it is also easy to check the list against anything that has bothered you before. This is general information, not medical advice.
