Being a new mom is a beautiful journey. Your body changes and you’re in the process of getting used to it both mentally and physically. Your routine goes for a toss while trying to cope with that of your little one. And more often than not, the dreaded happens you lose intimacy with your partner and so starts the dry spell. In some ways, motherhood can feel as lonely as much as it can feel wholesome, and it is important to acknowledge it. But, you’ve got this, momma.

We know you're tired, so instead of grand gestures, go for small surprises. Leave a sweet note for your partner, or plan a cosy movie night together after the baby sleeps. These little acts of thoughtfulness can go a long way in reigniting the spark.

Prioritise Connection

Intimacy isn't just about physical pleasure; it's about feeling emotionally connected. Make time for open communication with your partner. Share your feelings, fears, and joys – this emotional connection can lead to a deeper and more fulfilling intimate life.

Take Advantage of Naptime

We know naptime is precious, but why not use some of it for intimacy? Instead of tackling chores, you could take a quick nap together, or indulge in cuddling. It's a simple way to feel close and relaxed when you don’t know how to get in the mood right away.

Taking care of yourself is crucial right now, Mom. When you feel good about yourself, it also boosts your confidence and desire for intimacy. Find small moments for self-care, whether it's a relaxing bath, reading a book, binge-watching your favourite show, or going for a walk.

Be patient with yourself, and know that it's normal to face challenges as new parents. It's okay to go at your own pace. By taking small, realistic steps and keeping the lines of communication open, you can nurture your intimate life and strengthen your bond as a couple. You've got this!
